Hello. If you are reading this article, chances are that you are interested in internet marketing. Well you've come to the right place. I will be introducing concepts in this article that you would need to read several expensive e-books to learn. Considering the average e-book is around $50, you're getting a pretty good bargain. So, before we get started, let me clarify a few terms.
The money making practice behind this article is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is really a quite simple concept. There are thousands of companies offering goods and services on the internet. Many of them recruit affiliates to help market their products. When an affiliate makes a sale, the company with the product gets a percentage of the sale, and the affiliate gets the rest. In this way, affiliate marketing is good for both parties since both parties make money from the sale. Many companies pay the affiliate an insanely high commission as well. I have joined several affiliate programs where I get paid 75% of every sale.
To make money as an affiliate, all you really have to do is drive traffic to a company's website. There are dozens of ways to do this, but this article will only present one: the one I've found to be most effective. But first, lets look at one system that doesn't work:
Google Adwords.
The concept behind using Adwords for affiliate marketing is as follows. You receive a link from your affiliate program with your affiliate ID in it. Lets just say you're promoting an e-book for how to sell on EBay. You would set up a simple ad that says something like, "EBay Selling Secrets. Learn How The Pros Make Their Cash". You would then start bidding on keywords. You would choose phrases like, "Sell on eBay", "EBay Strategies", "Make Money with EBay". The theory is that anytime someone types in those words in the Google search engine, your ad will show up on the result page and people will click it.
Here's the problem. You have to bid on keywords, and certain keywords have minimum bids. The minimum bid on the word "EBay" for this sort of ad is very high. You could end up paying up to $10 per click which just isn't logical.
The problem with Adwords marketing is that everyone is doing it. There is far too much competition to have any real success. I know, because I've tried, and I've failed miserably.
If you want to succeed as an affiliate marketer, you need to find a better system for generating sales. I've discovered a system for doing so that works wonderfully well. I will be outlining it in this book.
So how does this system work? There are really only 4 steps involved. If you can master these four steps, then you can generate a lot of extra income. The steps are as follows:
1. Find a good affiliate program.
2. Setup an auto-responder to send your affiliate link embedded in a newsletter.
3. Set up a webpage with a form to subscribe to your newsletter.
4. Promote your website.
Now we're going to take an in-depth look at all four steps. The first step is to find a good affiliate program.
Step 1:Finding An Affiliate Program
There are literally thousands of affiliate programs out there, so finding the right one can be a daunting task. I'm going to tell you about some of the programs I've found to be the most profitable.
Find programs with a residual commission:
Most affiliate programs will pay you a one-time commission for every sale. However, there are some programs that pay an ongoing commission for every sale. Lets take web hosting for instance. Most web hosts charge on a month-by-month basis. When you sell a web hosting account, you can make a commission for every month a client stays on with that web host. If they keep their site for 5 years, you make a commission every month for 5 years.
Web hosts are great affiliate programs since everyone with a website needs hosting. Web hosting accounts nearly sell themselves. Some of the best programs are listed below:
Web Wizards - Web Wizards pays a 25% lifetime commission on web hosting accounts, and it's a two-tier program which means you can sign up sub-affiliates and receive a 5% commission on every sale they make. By signing up a lot of affiliates under you, you can make a decent amount of cash with minimal effort. Visit Web Wizards at http://www.webwizards.net/discount.code/bakervillia The affiliate link is at the bottom of the page.
TB Host - TB Host is also a multi-tier program. You make a 20% lifetime commission on your own sales, and a 5% commission on the sales of your affiliates. Visit TB Host at: http://www.tbhost.com/cgi-bin/aff/clickthru.cgi?id=bakervillia Again, the affiliate link is at the bottom of the page.
Web Hosting Plus - This is another great two-tier program. You receive a 20% commission from your own sales, and a 5% commission for the sales of your affiliates. Visit at http://www.webhostplus.co.uk/cgi-bin/webhostingplus/click.cgi?prg=whp&affil=33471
Voda Host I've saved the best for last. You get a $10 monthly commission on every account you sell, and you get a 15% commission on the second tier. This is the largest second tier commission out there. http://www.vodahost.com/partner/idevaffiliate.php?id=6029
1. Setup An Auto-responder
Alright, you may be asking me. What is an auto-responder? An auto-responder is a software application which sends out emails automatically. When a person visits your webpage, they can fill out a simple form with their name and email, and your auto-responder will automatically send out a message to them.
Your auto-responder is the absolute most crucial element to your entire operation. Why is this? Because it collects email addresses. Any person who signs up for your newsletter is automatically entered into a database. Once there, you can market to them over and over again. Once you have 10,000 people on your list, you can make thousands of dollars with every new idea you generate just by sending a short message to your list.
In order to market your affiliate programs, you're going to need to write a short message for your auto-responder. Since you're affiliated with web hosts, it should describe the benefits of the hosts you are promoting, and general information on building websites. Just Google "website building tips" and you'll find plenty of material to enter into your message. Be sure to revise your message and make sure it looks as professional as possible. This way, you'll get a better response.
Once you've written your message, you'll need an auto-responder to send it. There are hundreds of auto-responders on the internet, so it shouldn't be hard to find one. Just one note of caution though: While there are plenty of free auto-responders to be found, very few of them have adequate features, and they are plagued with advertisements. But if you're on a short budget, they will work to some degree. I've only found one free auto responder that I think is reliable. You can get it at http://www.sendfree.com/affref/97507/
If you can afford to make the investment in a good auto-responder, you won't be sorry. The two best auto-responders I've found are:
Get Response - http://www.GetResponse.com/index/bakervillia
Royal Responder - http://www.royal-responder.com/rsp-cgi/a/clickthru.cgi?id=bakervillia
Step 3: Setup A Webpage
In this step, you're going to setup a very simple webpage. You will include a very brief hook telling your visitors that you can give them free information on web hosting. You will also include a sign up form for your auto-responder. If you're successful, your webpage will look something like www.profitjump.com .
The first step to building a webpage is to get web hosting. All of the hosts included in the affiliate section are excellent choices. Again, those options are:
http://www.webwizards.net/discount.code/bakervillia
http://www.tbhost.com/cgi-bin/aff/clickthru.cgi?id=bakervillia
http://www.webhostplus.co.uk/cgi-bin/webhostingplus/click.cgi?prg=whp&affil=33471
http://www.vodahost.com/partner/idevaffiliate.php?id=6029
Once you have hosting, you're going to want to build your site. There are lots of free website templates on the internet, and some free software. W3sitebuilder is the best free site builder that I've found. It's very simple to use and makes pretty decent websites. Get it at http://w3ap.com/cl.cfm?oid=4514&afid=bakervillia
Once you've designed your site, put in the form for your auto-responder. To do this, copy and paste the code your auto-responder site gives you into the html of your main page. If you don't know anything about html, there are plenty of articles on the internet that teach you all about it. Just Google "Learn Html" and you'll get hundreds of results.
Step 4: Promote Your Webpage
Driving traffic to your website is by far the hardest aspect of internet marketing. If no one visits your website, then you certainly won't be making much money. I'm going to be outlining several ways of driving traffic to your website. Unfortunately most of them aren't free. However, don't despair. There are still ways to generate traffic on a budget, so first I'll give you the freebie:
Traffic4Your - Traffic4Your sends your link to its email associates. When you sign up for a free account, you receive 5000 free impressions to your link. Visit Traffic4Your at http://traffic4your.com/?ref=875
One of the best ways to drive traffic to your site is with a pay-per-click ad campaign. Google's Adwords is the most popular of these programs, but since so many people use it, its very hard to get clicks. One programs I've used with success is www.goclick.com During my first campaign, I generated several thousand hits over the course of 2 weeks. What's great about GoClick is that you can bid as low as $0.01 per click. This will save you a lot of money.
Another way to drive traffic to your site is to buy hits. VisitorBoost.com offers 1000 hits for $1.95. 1000 hits is more than enough to get you up and running. Plus, it sends your website to targeted traffic, so you're sure to get quality leads.
Yet another way to drive traffic to your site is with reciprocal linking. The concept behind reciprocal linking is pretty simple. You put someone's link on your page, and they'll put yours on their page. Building a large list of links can however be very time intensive and frustrating. In light of this, several software programs have been developed to help automate this process for you. The very best of these is Zeus by Cyber-Robotics. The free trial version is more than adequate to get hundreds of reciprocal links on your site. Try it now at http://cyber-robotics.ashopcart.com/affiliate.php?id=380
Conclusion:
By reading this article, you've learned to find good affiliate programs, setup an auto-responder, build a webpage, and drive traffic to your site. These four steps are all you really need to succeed, but if you want to do better, there's always more to be learnt. The internet is evolving at a frighteningly fast rate, and new money making opportunities are popping up constantly. The best way to make money is to follow the trends. If you want to make the big time, then you're going to need to educate yourself. Success doesn't come overnight.
